Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of truck fleet maintenance. This role ensures vehicles remain in peak condition, operate cost-effectively, and meet compliance standards. The manager will lead a team of ~6 technicians, manage preventative maintenance schedules, and optimize repair operations to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize repair orders to ensure safe, clean, and reliable trucks that meet operational schedules and exceed customer expectations
- Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs and inspections
- Coordinate repairs and manage vendor relationships to control costs
- Monitor fuel usage and maintenance expenses
- Ensure compliance with DOT and other relevant regulations
- Lead, train, and motivate technicians to meet performance goals
- Enforce safety policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with drivers, technicians, vendors, and leadership
- Optionally assist with vehicle acquisitions, leasing, and disposals
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in fleet maintenance or the trucking industry
- Heavy-duty truck experience and prior hands-on technician/mechanic background required
- strong knowledge of fleet compliance and safety regulations
- Effective time management, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficient with fleet management systems and Microsoft Office
- Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and on-time performance
