Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections of cable harnesses, wire assemblies, and electrical subassemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and document results according to internal procedures and customer requirements
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, crimp height gauges) to verify critical dimensions and component placement
- Interpret and inspect parts against engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions
- Verify compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or other applicable standards for cable/wire harnesses
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and rework using company QA systems (paper or digital)
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify, contain, and correct defects or workmanship issues
- Support in-process, final, and incoming inspection activities as required
- Ensure tools and gauges are properly calibrated and in good working condition
- Follow ESD-safe practices and maintain a clean, organized inspection area
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action investigations for quality issues
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Adhere to all ISO 9001, AS9100, or other regulatory and customer-specific quality requirements
