Role Summary: Randstad USA is hiring a highly skilled Level 4 Maintenance Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Libertyville, IL. This is a hands-on, direct hire role for a top-tier maintenance professional with extensive mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience, including PLC diagnostics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and fabrication. You’ll serve as a technical leader and mentor, supporting plant operations, safety, and reliability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 7+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of technical training or equivalent experience
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic
- Skilled in PLC-based diagnostics (troubleshooting only)
- Welding, machining, and HVAC experience strongly preferred
- strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
- Forklift certification and understanding of ISO 9001:2015 a plus
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical duties such as standing, climbing, kneeling

Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs across all plant equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using PLCs and read ladder logic
- Repair and improve mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and HVAC
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior maintenance staff
- Detect, document, and resolve complex equipment failures
- Perform welding, machining, and fabrication as needed
- Support engineering and document new PM procedures
- Work independently under minimal supervision
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols including LOTO, PPE, and confined space requirements
