Responsibilities
1. Provide directions, instructions, and guidance to the assistant mold technician
daily.
2. Make sure that all tools and toolroom machines are in good working conditions.
3. Conduct preventive maintenance on injection tooling.
4. Ability to perform tool core changes, cavity changes, and replace
thermocouples, tips, and O-rings.
5. Perform tooling repair in the tool room when necessary.
6. Must be able to polish molds, as necessary.
7. Work with Engineering to resolve tooling issues.
8. Document and keep historical records of work done on tools.
9. Provide troubleshooting support for daily mold problems.
10. Must have the working knowledge with corresponding hands-on experience of
machine shop/tool shop machinery used for milling, grinding, cutting, drilling,
polishing etc.
11. Maintain toolroom material inventory and replenish materials as needed.
12. Read and interpret drawings and use them to machine parts.
13. Must be able to make and repair fixtures, machine components, gauges and end
of arm tooling used in the production of plastic molded parts.
14. Must be able to prioritize tasks and assignments based on daily production and
engineering requirements.
15. Adhere to LDM’s policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
16. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
17. Perform special assignments/projects and other duties as assigned by the Plant
Manager.
