salary: $23 - $27 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 PM - 5 PM
education: No Degree Required
Responsibilities
- Inspecting Incoming Materials: You'll be responsible for visually and physically inspecting all incoming raw materials, parts, and products from suppliers. This involves checking for defects, damage, and ensuring that the correct quantities have been received.
- Using Measurement Tools: A critical part of the job is using precision measurement tools. You'll use tape measures to verify larger dimensions and calipers (both digital and manual) to check for smaller, more precise measurements like diameters, thicknesses, and depths.
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: You'll need to be able to read and understand technical drawings, or blueprints, to know the exact dimensions, tolerances, and specifications required for each part.
- Documentation and Reporting: You'll meticulously document your inspection results. This includes logging measurements, noting any defects found, and filling out inspection reports. If a part fails inspection, you'll be responsible for tagging it as "non-conforming" and generating a report for further review.
- Communicating with Teams: You will work closely with other departments, such as purchasing and production, to report on quality issues and ensure that defective materials don't make it to the manufacturing floor.
