Responsibilities
Examine product for inside and outside for surface defects, such as discoloration, cracks, splits, waves, or dimples.
Inspect coils for proper taping and inside diameter.
Inspect all printing on the pipe for proper marking. If markings do not meet specifications, have them correct immediately.
Test and evaluate all retain submitted by Production QC.
Measure wall thickness, outside diameter, inside diameter, ovality, OOR
Visually inspect pipe for defects inside and out.
Inform the Plant Manger immediately if you find any production out of spec.
Evaluate Specification sheets. Confirm they are being filled out correctly and that the information on them applies to the
retains submitted.
File all specification sheets with the test results from the retains.
Accurately record and communicate the quantity of inventory scrapped so proper adjustments can be made.
Inspect returned goods. Fill out proper forms and determine disposition of product.
Confirm specification sheets on the production line are up to date and readily available for the production supervisors.
Communicate all problems to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Verify proper handling and labeling of finished product throughout production.
Verify packaging and bundling during dock audits.
Monitor the manufacturing processes by auditing, line checks, inspecting and collecting samples, confirming lengths, and checking product and specifications to ensure adherence to required standards.
