Responsibilities
- Vehicle Operation: Operate a Class A commercial vehicle safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (DOT).
- Loading/Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of freight as required, ensuring cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
- Delivery and Pickup: Perform timely and accurate deliveries and pickups to and from various locations, including warehouses, distribution centers, and customer sites.
- Route Management: Follow pre-determined routes and schedules, and be able to adapt to changes as needed. Use GPS and other routing tools to optimize efficiency.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, documenting any issues or maintenance needs.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time, including logbooks, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all customers and staff. Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Safety: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including those related to vehicle operation, lifting, and handling of materials. Report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns immediately.
