Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM | Monday–Friday Plus OT Pay: $25–$30/hr DOE
Role Summary: Randstad USA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a full-time, direct hire role in Elk Grove Village, IL. In this role, you'll provide hands-on maintenance support for blow molding, extrusion, and injection molding systems. You'll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support continuous improvement projects in a high-volume plastics manufacturing environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience
- Background in blow molding, extrusion, or injection molding preferred
- Basic electrical diagnostic and repair skills
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, and servo controls is a plus
- Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled, high-noise environments
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, kneel, climb machinery, and move safely throughout the facility
- Pay: $25–$30/hr DOE

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks
- Identify and resolve machine, component, and system failures
- Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders and repairs
- Support equipment overhauls during planned shutdowns
- Operate shop tools (lathe, welder, drill press, mill, multimeter, etc.)
- Collaborate with Process Technicians and Supervisors to resolve production equipment issues
- Help maintain spare parts inventory
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Observe all safety standards and wear appropriate PPE (hearing, safety glasses)
- Other duties as assigned
