What You'll Do:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of technicians through all phases of the vehicle upfitting process, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Command the facility’s financial success by developing annual budgets, managing capital improvements, and driving profitability through P&L oversight.
- Manage the complete customization process, from production scheduling and workflow to final quality inspection, ensuring on-time delivery to exact specifications.
- Serve as the lead technical expert on the floor, troubleshooting complex challenges in mobile hydraulics, 12V electrical systems, and mechanical fitment.
- Champion continuous improvement by implementing Lean principles like 5S to remove waste and boost efficiency.
- Control inventory, product flow, and supplier relations to ensure peak operational performance.
- 5+ years of leadership experience (e.g., Shop Supervisor, Production Manager) in truck equipment, heavy equipment, or a related vehicle manufacturing environment.
- Expert hands-on knowledge of commercial truck chassis, mobile hydraulic systems, and 12-volt electrical systems.
- Understanding of budgeting, expense management, and P&L oversight.
- Proven experience implementing continuous improvement tools like 5-S or Lean Manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and build a high-performing technical team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be strongly considered.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the shop and general supervision over all phases of vehicle upfitting, including production, scheduling, and logistics.
- Develop and execute the annual shop manufacturing budget, manage capital improvements, and monitor operation expenses to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- Direct daily upfitting operations, managing workflow from bare chassis to finished vehicle to meet strict production schedules and quality standards.
- Serve as the hands-on technical expert, actively troubleshooting issues with mobile hydraulics, 12V electrical systems, welding, and mechanical installations.
- Analyze workforce requirements, manage staffing levels, and conduct performance appraisals while providing coaching and guidance to the team.
- Control the flow of product and materials from suppliers and review production schedules to ensure inventory levels are met.
- Encourage and promote a continuous improvement environment, allocating human and equipment resources to attain all established goals.
- Conduct rigorous in-process and final quality control inspections to guarantee all work meets engineering schematics and customer specifications.
- Ensure all team members are aware of and adhere to safety policies to provide a safe workplace for everyone.
