Responsibilities
As a Yard Driver/Hostler Driver you will responsible for moving trailers and shipping containers within a facility's yard using a yard tractor or hostler truck. Key duties include performing pre- and post-trip inspections, positioning trailers for loading and unloading, maintaining yard organization, and ensuring equipment is clean and operational. This role is crucial for the seamless operation of logistics and supply chains by facilitating efficient trailer and container movements in tight, on-site spaces. This role requires physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Some of your responsibilities may be to load and unload goods from trucks safely and efficiently. Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, sometimes with a partner. You may use pallet jacks, dollies, and other material-handling equipment. Work in various environments, adapting to different tasks and schedules. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent injury and product damage.
