A growing manufacturing and distribution operation based in Suffolk County, NY is looking for a hands-on, proactive Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor to oversee facility upkeep and ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant support for daily operations. This role is responsible for maintaining site infrastructure, equipment, and building systems while coordinating repair and preventive maintenance efforts to support seamless production activity.

salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee facility maintenance to ensure continuous operations, implementing proactive strategies to minimize downtime.
  
  
• Partner with the production team to develop and maintain comprehensive sanitation schedules and procedures.
  
  
• Monitor the condition, safety, and functionality of all internal and external spaces, including offices, common areas, and grounds.
  
  
• Coordinate with leadership and external partners to establish robust security measures, including fire, theft, and environmental protections.
  
  
• Align all maintenance and repair activities with production timelines to prevent disruption and maintain peak efficiency.
  
  
• Evaluate incoming requests, prioritize work orders, and ensure timely completion. Tasks include equipment upgrades, preventative upkeep, and corrective repairs.
  
  
• Provide direct troubleshooting and maintenance support on the floor and throughout the facility as needed.
  
  
• Conduct regular inspections, evaluate equipment, and lead training to promote a secure work environment.
  
  
• Manage relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and contractors, overseeing contracts, negotiating terms, and ensuring all services and materials comply with company standards.
  
  
• Foster a positive work environment, guiding the team to meet productivity and performance goals.
  
  
• Manage the acquisition of all necessary supplies and equipment, including adherence to proper chemical handling and dilution practices.
