A well-established leader in the precision metal stamping industry is seeking an experienced Press Setup Operator to join our dedicated team in Clifton, NJ. We produce critical components for the aerospace and electronics sectors and are looking for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to our mission of quality and excellence.
In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of mechanical presses. The ideal candidate will have a background in progressive die stamping and a commitment to precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate mechanical presses (e.g., Minster, Bliss, Johnson) according to job specifications.
- Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents to ensure accurate production.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and adjustments to maintain machine efficiency.
- Proven experience in a metal stamping environment.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of a manufacturing role, including standing for extended periods.
- A meticulous and safety-conscious approach to all tasks.
salary: $52,000 - $65,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor high-tonnage mechanical presses (e.g., Minster, Bliss, Johnson) for progressive die stamping of precision metal components.
- Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure products meet strict specifications for the aerospace and electronics industries.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, job orders, and technical documents to accurately install, align, and adjust dies and configure machine settings.
- Conduct basic mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on press machinery to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment while handling oils, grease, and heavy materials.
