We are looking for a Maintenance Set Up Mechanic to be responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting equipment to manufacture and package products. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, safety rules, and good manufacturing processes. You will maintain all packaging equipment in good working order and uphold quality and plant safety standards.

Qualifications:

  Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.

  Minimum Experience: 2+ years of experience, preferably in a GMP environment in the pharmaceutical industry.

  Thorough knowledge and understanding of all packaging equipment to support set-ups, changeovers, and minor repairs.
  
  
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  
  
• Ability to understand basic math and have basic computer knowledge.
  
  
• Ability to work independently, within a production team, and without supervision.
  
  
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  
  

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Able to stand for long periods and lift heavy machinery (50 lbs or more).
  
  
• The employee must frequently sit and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  
  
• You must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  
  
• The employee is exposed to inside weather conditions, moderate noise, and vibrations.

Responsibilities

 

• Perform all packaging equipment line set-ups and changeovers.
  
  
• Evaluate the condition of packaging equipment during setups and report any needed repairs or excessive wear to the supervisor.
  
  
• Fill in positions on the line as needed.
  
  
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts to transport material.
  
  
• Perform and direct all line cleanings and mechanical changeovers.
  
  
• Execute preventive maintenance work that is scheduled with production to minimize downtime.
  
  
• Clean and replace components of machinery as needed and defined in the preventive maintenance strategy.
  
  
• Identify and report any quality issues to the supervisor or quality department.
  
  
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe working environment at all times.
  
  
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, SOPs, and safety regulations.
  
  

The essential functions of this role include:

• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
