Responsibilities
Provide maintenance leadership:
• Lead and direct maintenance personnel on a daily basis
• Conduct an effective preventive and predictive maintenance program
• Prioritize maintenance activities that support plant success
• Establish and maintain appropriate equipment/parts/maintenance supply inventories
• Establish and work to improve on machine uptime metrics
• Responsible for staffing, training, and discipline of maintenance department personnel.
Direct capital projects:
• Prioritize, prepare, and track capital budget spending
• Justify capital spending projects to achieve plant/corporation goals
• Direct the installation of new production equipment
• Solicit bids/quotes and recommend best alternatives
• Direct vendors to complete capital projects on time and within budget parameters.
Provide process engineering leadership:
• Work with production team to resolve process and product quality issues
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
• Lead efforts to continuously improve costs, production rates, and quality
• Prioritize and provide resources to correct safety issues.
• Work with HR to provide specialized maintenance safety training
• Serve as a safety resource for the management team.
Support facility maintenance
• Responsible for the physical facility assets and maintenance
• Maintain and improve the building structure
• Maintain equipment and building prints / records
• Follow food safety procedures and “clean zone” policies.
