You’ll use your expertise to fabricate and weld the steel for high-profile structural projects that literally shape the skyline. Pay Range: $18.50 - $26.00 per hour Shift: 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM Skills and Experience Needed:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a structural steel fitter in a weld shop.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and accurate use of tape measures/rulers, plasma cutter and press brake highly desired
• Solid understanding of fitting, alignment, and tack-welding techniques.
• Experience with Mig, Tig, or stick welding.
• Familiarity with overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Prepare metal components for assembly, which can involve cutting, grinding, and shaping the parts using various tools like cutting torches, grinders, and shears to achieve the desired dimensions
• Tack weld to hold the pieces in place for the final, full-strength weld.
• Ensure that the welded components meet structural and safety standards.

The essential functions of this role include:

working in a smoke free environment

wearing steel toe shoes

working in a non-temperature controlled environment

manual lifting up to 50lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time

working weekends
