The Role We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team on the night shift. This role is responsible for ensuring the operational readiness and efficiency of all plant equipment, minimizing downtime, and contributing to continuous process improvement. You must be able to perform maintenance activities independently, assist on complex repairs, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Core Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience covering mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer-controlled equipment (PLC, HMI).
- Experience in lubricating, cleaning, and repairing a variety of equipment, including material handling, motor control, relay control, process control, and packaging machinery.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting charts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and wiring diagrams.
- Trade school or technical school graduation in a relevant field (e.g., electrical, PLC, welding/fabrication, refrigeration).
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred.
- Current certification and/or license in a maintenance trade.
- Diagnostics: Inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment downtime. Able to diagnose and take appropriate steps to find solutions to complex problems.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using a variety of maintenance tools, hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment (forklift) safely.
- Project Work: Able to perform minor to mid-sized maintenance projects from planning through installation.
- Continuous Improvement: Able to present options and ideas for improving current processes or procedures.
- Teamwork & Independence: Able to perform tasks and duties without constant supervision and work effectively in a team environment.
- Communication: Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Able to adapt and manage to change effectively.
