Responsibilities
Follows all standard operating procedures relevant to job, position and department.
Diagnoses more complicated mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems on production,
telecommunication, and maintenance equipment, and facility structures, performing necessary
repairs (including fabrications), or recommending the use of an outside contractor.
Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment, advising of potential failures and
making recommendations to improve equipment operations.
Rebuilds necessary equipment components such as pumps, motors, glue pots, gear boxes, forklift
trucks, printing presses, die cutting machines, etc.
Lays out electrical circuits, modifies existing motor control circuits and adds retro fits to machinery
according to manufacturers’ specifications or NEC standards.
Installs production equipment in accordance with the manufacturers’ mechanical and electrical
specifications.
Programs and troubleshoots logic and software in programmable controllers and similar computer
controls.
Assists in outlining technical training and guidance needs for less senior maintenance personnel
and operators.
Performs duties such as constructing work areas, painting, TPM, visibility workstations, etc., as
required.
Takes part in make-ready reduction teams or improvement teams as needed.
Assigns work orders in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
