The Details
- Position: Material Risk Assessment Specialist
- Location: Hybrid – Primarily remote, with 1 day per week required on-site in Hackettstown, NJ 07840. (You choose your on-site day!)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Duration: 12-month contract with the potential for extension.
- Team: You'll be part of a collaborative 6-person team.
What You’ll Need to Bring
- Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in a relevant scientific field: Food Science, Analytical Science, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition, Quality, or Food Safety.
- Attention to Detail: Must be incredibly attentive to detail—your meticulous nature is key to identifying critical risks.
- Self-Starter: Must be able to take initiative and manage time effectively, as this role operates primarily remote.

Responsibilities
A "Material Risk Assessment Specialist" is a role at a food and pet care company focusing on ensuring the safety and quality of raw materials.
This specialist conducts material risk assessments (MRAs) to identify and mitigate potential hazards in ingredients and packaging before they are used in production.
You will manage the pre-shipment and inbound verification program for raw materials to ensure the Quality and Food Safety of materials received for use in the facilities. This role also drives continuous improvement of material specifications and/or supplier processes through data trending and analyses while supporting the development and implementation of other relevant food safety programs.
This is hybrid, with 1 day a week on site in Hackettstown, NJ 07840 . Talent can choose which day to be onsite.
12 months with potential to extend. 6 people on team.
Schedule is M-F, 8am - 4pm.
