What You'll Be Doing:
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, 3D models, and shop drawings.
- Perform high-quality Flux-Cored (FCAW) and Stick (SMAW) welds on heavy structural steel.
- Fabricate, assemble, and fit-up major structural elements (beams, columns, stairs, railings) with high precision.
- Operate advanced CNC machinery (beam lines, angle masters, plasma cutters, etc.).
- Use grinders, torches, and measuring tools to cut, shape, and finish materials.
- Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure all work meets AWS D1.1 and project standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a structural steel environment.
- Expertise in reading structural blueprints and weld symbols.
- High proficiency in FCAW and/or SMAW welding (a weld test will be required).
- Experience operating heavy fabrication equipment (saws, drills, CNC, etc.).
- Physically fit, shop math, layout, and fitting skills.
- A rock-solid work ethic and a total commitment to safety.
- AWS certifications are a major plus.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, 3D model data (StruCAD), and fabrication drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
- Perform high-quality welding on structural steel components using various processes (e.g., MIG, Flux-Cored/FCAW, Stick/SMAW) in accordance with AWS and other industry standards.
- Fabricate and assemble steel components, including columns, beams, girders, stairs, and railings, by cutting, drilling, and fitting parts.
- Operate heavy fabrication machinery such as CNC beam lines, angle masters, plasma cutters, saws, shears, and press brakes.
- Use hand and power tools including grinders, torches, and measuring devices to prepare, shape, and finish metal parts.
- Conduct quality control checks and visual inspections to ensure all welds and finished components meet precise project specifications and tolerances.
- Fit-up and tack-weld parts into position for final welding, ensuring proper alignment and dimensions.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all company safety protocols (OSHA) and performing routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with shop supervisors, detailers, and other fabricators to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.
