Responsibilities
- Perform welding using processes such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) on materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Read and accurately interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine the proper placement, fit-up, and welding sequence.
- Fabricate, assemble, and fit-up structural components and assemblies according to specifications.
- Measure, cut, grind, and shape metal materials using hand and power tools.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications (e.g., using visual inspection, gauges).
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment (e.g., plasma cutters, shears, brakes, punches).
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve any design or fabrication issues.
