Responsibilities
A well-established Suffolk County truck equipment company is seeking a skilled Truck Builder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience assembling, modifying, and upfitting medium- and heavy-duty trucks (Class 3–8). This is a great opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full truck builds and upfits, including installation of hooklifts, dump bodies, plows, and other equipment.
- Work with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure proper function and reliability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly as needed.
- Inspect completed builds for quality and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and customer specifications.
- 3+ years of experience in truck building, upfitting, or related mechanical work.
- background in hydraulics, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Full-time, Monday–Friday day shift.
