We are seeking a highly skilled and precision-focused Manual CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our production team. If you thrive on the challenge of programming parts directly on the machine control and have an expert command of Fanuc G-Code, we want to hear from you! This role is critical for producing high-tolerance, low-to-medium volume components.
As a Manual CNC Programmer/Machinist, you won't be chained to a computer. Your primary focus will be hands-on programming and production:
- Manual Programming Mastery: Write complex, efficient G-Code programs from scratch directly into the Fanuc CNC controller for new components.
- Complete Machine Setup: Perform full setups including fixturing, selecting and installing all tooling, setting tool and work offsets, and proving out first articles.
- Precision Machining: Operate CNC machines (Mill/Lathe - Specify machine type) to produce parts to extremely tight tolerances, often $\pm 0.001$ inch or less.
- Quality Control: Utilize precision metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to perform rigorous in-process and first-article inspections, ensuring strict adherence to GD&T requirements on blueprints.
- Competitive Pay: based on experience and expertise.
- Great Benefits: top benefits, Comprehensive Health/Dental/Vision, 401(k) Match, Paid Time Off.
- Hands-On Work: The opportunity to be a true craftsman/woman, relying on your programming skill rather than just hitting 'start.'
- Stable Growth: Join a company with a commitment to quality and a consistent backlog of challenging work.
salary: $60,200 - $72,800 per year
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
- Manual G-Code Programming: Expertly manually program new and complex parts directly at the Fanuc control using G-Code from engineering blueprints and technical drawings. This is a primary function; reliance on CAM software is minimal.
- Setup and Operation: Perform complete machine setups, including fixturing, selecting and installing tooling, determining offsets, and performing tool changes on CNC machines with Fanuc controls.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, and work orders to ensure parts conform to specifications with tight tolerances (e.g., $\pm 0.001$ inch).
- First-Article & In-Process Inspection: Execute first-article inspections and subsequent in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Program Optimization & Editing: Troubleshoot, edit, and optimize existing G-Code programs directly on the control to improve cycle times, surface finish, and overall process efficiency.
- Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, ensure a clean and safe work environment, and report any complex maintenance issues.
- Material Knowledge: Work with various materials, including but not limited to, aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel, and plastics, selecting appropriate feeds, speeds, and cutting tools.
