Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Tool/Die department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of progressive, transfer, and line dies, as well as associated tooling and fixtures. This role is critical to ensuring minimal downtime and maximum production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all production dies and tooling.
- Quickly diagnose and repair die failures, breakages, or component wear during production.
- Use grinders, lathes, mills, and other machine tools to repair or fabricate die components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Assist with die setup, changeovers, and tryouts as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for improvement in die performance and longevity.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, Toolmaker, or Die Maker.
- Understanding of die-stamping operations and die components.
- Proficient in operating manual machine tools (mills, lathes, surface grinders).
- Experience with TIG/MIG welding for die repair is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings.
