Randstad Staffing is urgently seeking an experienced EHS Technician to take on a crucial, full-time role in Florida. This position is focused on environmental compliance and safety. The core duty involves operating and maintaining a wastewater continuous flow pretreatment plant. The technician is responsible for using chemical analysis techniques to characterize water , pre-treat wastewater prior to discharge or shipping , and ensure all discharge parameters meet current industrial permit limits. The role also heavily supports waste management, requiring the collection of hazardous and non-hazardous waste , preparation of all necessary shipping documentation (like manifests and LDR’s) , and handling emergency responses for chemical mishaps and spills. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant experience , a high school diploma or GED , and preferably possess certifications like RCRA, DOT Hazmat, and Hazwoper.

Responsibilities

• Wastewater Operations: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the continuous flow pretreatment plant and associated equipment (like the filter press and DI water system)
• Chemical Analysis: Perform chemical testing (including jar testing and pH calibration) to characterize wastewater and diagnose system operations to ensure compliance with discharge permits.
• Waste Management: Collect, handle, and prepare reclaim, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste for shipping, including generating manifests and other required documentation.
• Compliance & Inspection: Inspect facilities for proper chemical storage and waste practices, maintain environmental records, and comply with EHS regulations.
• Safety & Support: Handle emergency response for chemical mishaps, assist management with EHS assessments, distribute chemicals, and operate a forklift as needed.
