Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities involve the full-cycle operation of CNC lathes and milling machines, encompassing programming, setup, and running operations. This includes expertise with machines like Mazak/Mazatrol, DMG/Mori/Celos Shopmill, and Doosan Puma/EZ Guide i, and the ability to program complex parts using both G-code and conversational programming on multi-axis equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), the ability to read 2-D shop prints, and selecting the proper tooling to work with tight tolerances, often to +/- .001”. The individual is expected to maintain the highest levels of quality by inspecting parts using equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators. This position demands forward thinking to anticipate and resolve problems, the ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing productively in a team, and maintaining accurate job documentation through both paperwork and electronic Job Tracking applications. Finally, the role includes performing prescribed preventive maintenance on machines.
