CNC Lathe Machinist The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for the setup, programming (editing), and operation of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes to produce high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires a understanding of G-code, tooling, and precision measurement techniques to maintain tight tolerances and minimize scrap. ✅ Qualifications





Required:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist in a production environment.
  
  
• Technical Skills: Proficient in setting up and operating 2-axis and multi-axis CNC Lathes (e.g., slant-bed, live tooling).
  
  
• Programming: Ability to read, edit, and understand G-code and M-code. Familiarity with conversational programming or CAM software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC lathes, including loading fixtures and tooling, touching off tools, and performing machine offsets.
  
  
• Programming/Editing: Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions. Write, modify, or edit G-code programs as necessary to optimize cycles and ensure part quality.
  
  
• Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspection of parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, comparators) to ensure conformance to tight dimensional and surface finish specifications.
  
  
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine or programming issues (e.g., chatter, poor finish, excessive tool wear) to minimize downtime and scrap.
