Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Perform full First Article Inspections on new or revised parts.
- Validate that tooling, blueprints, and manufacturing processes are capable of producing parts to specification.
- Document comprehensive FAI reports for customer approval.
- Conduct "Buy-offs" at critical manufacturing stages (e.g., post-machining, pre-deburr, or post-heat treat).
- Perform visual and dimensional checks to ensure the production run remains within tolerance, preventing mass-scrap scenarios.
- Monitor SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts to identify trend deviations.
- Perform 100% or AQL-based final dimensional inspections using Vision Systems and manual tools (Micrometers, Bore Gauges, Height Stands).
- Verify Material Certifications and Special Process Certifications (Plating, Anodizing, Welding) for traceability.
- Review and sign off on Logbooks and Certificates of Conformance (CoC) for final shipping.
