Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Operational Inspection: Conduct thorough morning inspections of production lines and equipment to ensure total cleanliness and compliance before production begins.
- Startup Verification: Validate that all raw materials and ingredients meet specifications for the day’s scheduled runs.
- Process Monitoring: Perform regular line audits, including temperature checks, weight verification, and sensory evaluations (appearance, smell, and texture).
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to USDA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP guidelines.
- Laboratory Testing: Collect samples for microbial testing and perform routine analytical tests on-site.
- Communication: Partner with 1st-shift production leads to resolve quality issues in real-time and provide clear hand-off notes for the incoming 2nd-shift team.
- Experience: 1+ years of QC experience in food manufacturing (meat processing experience is a significant advantage).
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Food Safety certifications (HACCP/SQF) are a plus.
- Technical Skills: * Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and USDA regulations.
- Proficiency in using thermometers, scales, and digital data entry tools.

- Attributes: High level of integrity, observational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment.
- Communication: Must be able to document findings clearly in English. (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to support our diverse production team.

- In-Process Monitoring: Perform hourly checks on production lines to ensure product consistency (Brix, pH, and viscosity).
- Sanitation Verification: Perform pre-operational inspections and ATP swabbing to verify that equipment is sanitized and ready for the shift.
- Compliance: Enforce HACCP, SQF, and GMP protocols on the floor.
- Testing: Inspect raw fruit arrivals and finished goods for defects or deviations from USDA standards.
- Problem Solving: Identify quality "red flags" and work with the Production Supervisor to put product on hold or adjust processes when necessary.
- Reporting: Complete end-of-shift quality reports to ensure a smooth hand-off to the morning team.
