Role Summary
The Test Technician is responsible for the setup, calibration, and execution of functional and high-potential (Hi-Pot) testing on complex maritime defense systems. This role requires a blend of precision electronics troubleshooting and a strict commitment to high-voltage safety protocols to ensure sonar and power systems survive the extreme conditions of naval deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Functional & Environmental Testing: Execute manual and automated test sequences on maritime sensors and power modules.
- High Voltage (HV) Operations: Conduct Hi-Pot (Dielectric Withstand) and Insulation Resistance (IR) testing at levels typically ranging from 500V to 5000V+.
- Failure Analysis: Troubleshoot failures to the component level using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and DMMs. Identify leakage paths or dielectric breakdowns in HV circuits.
- Safety Protocol Management: Act as the Safety Lead for test stations, ensuring all interlocks, light curtains, and grounding systems are operational.
- Data Management: Record and analyze test data using LabVIEW or proprietary software; ensure all HV test results meet strict MIL-STD and AS9100 quality requirements.
