Responsibilities
Role Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Assembler performs a variety of complex assembly operations, including wiring, soldering, and mechanical fastening. You will work from blueprints and technical drawings to build sub-assemblies and final products, ensuring every connection is secure and every component is perfectly aligned to withstand harsh naval environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Precision Assembly: Build complex electro-mechanical assemblies, including circuit card installations, wire harnesses, and mechanical housings.
- Soldering & Wiring: Perform high-quality soldering of connectors and components; execute wire routing and crimping according to IPC standards.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret detailed assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and wiring diagrams to ensure builds meet engineering specifications.
- Quality Inspection: Conduct self-inspections of work to identify defects such as cold solder joints, missing hardware, or incorrect wire routing.
- Testing Support: Assist technicians in prepping units for functional and high-voltage testing by ensuring proper grounding and connection integrity.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize various hand and power tools, including torque wrenches, soldering stations, and pneumatic presses.
