Responsibilities
To be considered for this position, candidates must accurately and efficiently operate equipment including Milling machines, engine lathes, surface grinders, band saws, ProtoTrak SMX hybrid CNC/manual mills, and SL20 HAAS CNC Lathes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production: Review customer drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations. Design and build fixtures/jigs for unique setups.
- Programming & Setup: Adjust offsets and programs to maintain strict tolerances; work from shop prints and travelers.
- Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspections using calipers and micrometers; utilize shop math to verify part accuracy.
- Maintenance: Perform basic equipment upkeep, including light mechanical repairs and monthly coolant maintenance.
- Shop Support: Assist with deburring, tapping, and assembly; maintain accurate digital and physical production records.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on machining experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in shop math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry) and reading technical drawings/models.
- Tools: Must own a personal set of Machinist’s tools and be expert with precision measurement tools (calipers/micrometers).
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina are required
