The ideal candidate is a "bench wizard" who thrives on troubleshooting complex circuits and understands the unique safety requirements of working with high-voltage power supplies. If you have a passion for seeing your work reach the stars and the technical chops to back it up, we want you on the floor.
What You’ll Do
- Execute Complex Tests: Lead the setup and execution of functional, environmental, and life-cycle testing on aerospace-grade power supplies and distribution units.
- Precision Troubleshooting: Perform component-level diagnostics to identify root causes of failures. You will be expected to navigate schematics to find the "needle in the haystack" on populated PCBs.
- Master the Equipment: Be the subject matter expert on the lab floor for oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and high-voltage loads.
- Data Integrity: Monitor and record critical telemetry via DAQ systems, ensuring all data is captured with 100% accuracy for flight readiness reviews.
- Safety Leadership: Manage high-voltage safety protocols, including grounding strategies and isolation procedures, to ensure a zero-incident environment.
- Experience: 3+ years in aerospace, defense, or a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment.
- Power Expertise: Proven track record working with high-voltage systems and power conversion hardware (AC/DC, DC/DC).
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and wire harness diagrams.
- Tool Proficiency: Expert-level experience with digital oscilloscopes (triggering, math functions) and thermal/vibration test equipment.
- Mindset: A "quality-first" mentality with the patience to document every deviation and the curiosity to solve it.
- Work on hardware that is currently orbiting the Earth or heading to deep space.
- Competitive salary with [Insert Bonus/Benefits info].
- A collaborative environment where technicians and engineers work side-by-side.
salary: $62,400 - $80,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
- System Integration & Setup: Configure complex test benches for aerospace power supplies and distribution units, ensuring all grounding and safety protocols for high-voltage (HV) systems are strictly followed.
- Component-Level Troubleshooting: Diagnose failures down to the board level using schematics. This includes identifying faulty capacitors, MOSFETs, and transformers within high-density power modules.
- Precision Measurement: Utilize oscilloscopes to capture transient responses, ripple voltage, and timing signals. Perform precise measurements with DMMs, power analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Environmental Stress Screening (ESS): Execute thermal vacuum (TVAC), vibration, and EMI/EMC testing to validate hardware performance under simulated flight conditions.
- Data Acquisition: Set up and monitor DAQ systems to record real-time telemetry. Analyze data sets to ensure they meet strict NASA, FAA, or military specifications.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous test logs and write formal Discrepancy Reports (DRs) when hardware deviates from expected performance curves.
- Safety & Compliance: Act as a "Safety Observer" during high-energy testing, managing lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to protect personnel and flight-critical assets.
