Role Summary: Randstad USA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineering Technician to support a manufacturing facility in Naperville, IL. This direct hire role focuses on maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment, with a strong emphasis on electrical, electronic, PLC, and control systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support both production operations and plant infrastructure.
️ Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field required
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment preferred
- Hands-on experience with PLC configuration, troubleshooting, and programming
- strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems and diagnostic tools
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Proficient computer skills and experience working with PLC software
- Ability to interpret schematics, electrical codes, and technical documentation
- strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of hand and power tools
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifting over 50 lbs
- Exposure to hot, cold, humid, dusty, or noisy manufacturing environments
- Work around moving machinery, electrical systems, and chemical exposure
- Use of PPE required, including eye, hand, and hearing protection
- Occasional overtime and schedule flexibility as needed

Responsibilities
- Perform all maintenance work safely and collaboratively, following company safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with safety and operational procedures
- Provide technical support for PLC systems and network interfaces throughout the manufacturing floor
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Diagnose and repair PLCs, numerical controls, drives, power supplies, gauges, and test equipment
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical specifications
- Plan repair procedures, determine replacement part needs, and resolve equipment failures efficiently
- Service electronic equipment by testing and replacing components, circuit modules, and printed circuit boards
- Perform plant-wide electrical and electronic maintenance, making operational adjustments as needed
- Develop documentation and training materials to support control systems knowledge transfer
- Install and maintain communication cables, power distribution wiring, and perform cable splicing as required
- Support preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
