Key Responsibilities
- Precision Loading: Operate a sit-down forklift to pull palletized bricks from yard inventory and load them onto flatbed trucks with high accuracy.
- Yard Maintenance: Organize and restack inventory to maintain a clean, navigable, and safe yard environment.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Active Communication: Follow specific loading patterns and priority lists provided by the Yard Supervisor; must demonstrate active listening to adapt to changing daily schedules.
- Manual Handling: Assist in manual restacking or securing loads as needed to ensure product stability during transport.
- 70% Outdoor / 30% Indoor: You will be exposed to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Fast-Paced: Must be comfortable working in a high-traffic area with trucks entering and exiting the yard constantly.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience operating a sit-down forklift. Experience with heavy, shifting, or fragile loads (like masonry, stone, or lumber) is highly preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Directability: An ability to take direction, follow complex instructions from supervisors, and maintain a professional attitude.
- Reliability: Proven track record of punctual attendance and a "safety-first" mindset.
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (or the ability to pass our in-house certification within the first week).
