- Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate a heavy commercial truck (Class A or B) in compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Pre & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle before and after every shift (checking tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels) and report any mechanical issues.
- Cargo Handling: Ensure cargo is properly secured to prevent damage. (For some roles: Assist with loading and unloading freight using pallet jacks or forklifts).
- Route Planning: Plan routes to meet delivery schedules while avoiding restricted roads and minimizing delays.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) of working hours and vehicle service status in compliance with state and federal regulations.
