Responsibilities
- Plan, optimize, and execute daily delivery and pickup routes for company drivers
- Leverage detailed knowledge of NYC’s five boroughs and Long Island, including:
- Bridge and tunnel restrictions
- Truck routes and weight/height limitations
- Residential vs. commercial delivery zones
- Traffic patterns and congestion areas
- Ensure all routes comply with DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company policies
- Communicate route assignments, changes, and updates clearly to drivers
- Monitor driver progress and make real-time routing adjustments as needed
- Use TMS and/or routing software to manage dispatch operations, tracking, and reporting
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, delivery logs, and compliance documentation
- Coordinate with customers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve scheduling or delivery issues
- Respond to unexpected delays, breakdowns, or service disruptions efficiently
