Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Setup & Operation: Perform complex setups on CNC Lathes (Turning Centers) and CNC Mills (Vertical/Horizontal). This includes installing fixtures, leveling parts, and loading tools.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.
- Tooling & Maintenance: Select the appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders based on material properties (aluminum, steel, titanium, etc.).
- Quality Control: Inspect "first-run" and in-process parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Process Optimization: Make offsets and minor program edits (G-code) at the machine controller to maintain part quality and optimize cycle times.
- Shop Safety: Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols.
