Responsibilities
- The Work: Fabricating close-tolerance machine components, making custom gages, and completing the fit and finish of specialized production equipment.
- The Tech: Utilizing a full range of manual and conversational machines (such as ProtoTrak and MillPWR) and working with diverse materials ranging from plastics and aluminum to tool steels and nickel-based alloys.
- The Environment: A bright, quiet, and highly organized "tool room" setting with a focus on quality over quantity.
- A trade school education with a machining apprenticeship or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in toolmaking, tool & die, or assembly machine building.
- strong proficiency in manual setups (lathes, mills, grinders, jig bores) and precision measurement tools (micrometers, Cadillac gages, small bore gages).
- A "builder" mindset—someone who can interpret complex drawings and perform the necessary trigonometric calculations to verify work.
