Job Opportunity: General Laborer - Production Role Overview A position is available for a General Laborer in a production environment. This role focuses on maintaining efficient operations through high-speed packing, quality control, and adherence to strict safety standards. The position is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a daily schedule from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Operations: Support the startup and shutdown of equipment using designated checklists. Maintain a steady supply of packaging materials, including bags, pails, labels, and boxes, to ensure the production line remains operational.
  
  
• Packing and Palletizing: Pack bags into cases at a speed of 60 bags per minute. Manually palletize cases and pails up to a height of 72 inches. Handle pails weighing between 15 lbs and 35 lbs.
  
  
• Quality Assurance: Perform process control and quality checks on packaging and case configurations. Assist Quality Assurance technicians with product sampling and manage the re-work/re-melt process for out-of-specification items.
  
  
• Maintenance and Hygiene: Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regarding personal hygiene and workspace cleanliness. Maintain a safe and organized work area at all times.
  
  
• Technical Support: Assist with product changeovers and provide technical training to other laborers or temporary associates.
  
  

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform highly repetitious physical tasks.
  
  
• Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  
  
• Proficiency in basic English communication.
  
  
• Willingness to work in extreme temperature environments, ranging from -30°F in freezer units to 105°F in production areas.

Training and Development Cross-training is provided to develop proficiency in batching, conversion, and logistics. This program ensures that associates become interchangeable across different departments. Batching roles require precision and the ability to make adjustments as variations occur, while conversion roles involve operating uncomplicated machinery and performing minor repairs.
