Location: Suffolk County, NY Full-Time | Competitive Pay | Stable Work Environment
A busy distribution and warehouse operation in Suffolk County is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to maintain and repair a large fleet of material handling equipment. This is a hands-on position for a mechanically skilled professional who can work independently and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on electric and propane forklifts
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and mechanical systems
- Repair pallet jacks and other warehouse material handling equipment
- Conduct routine safety inspections and ensure OSHA compliance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
- Order and track parts as needed
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely before returning to service
- 5+ years of forklift or heavy equipment repair experience preferred
- solid knowledge of electric and propane-powered lift trucks
- Experience with hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and engine repair
- Ability to read service manuals and schematics
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
- Own tools preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse setting
- solid troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
