The Details
- Location: South St. Louis, MO
- Schedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) — Beat the traffic and get home early!
- Compensation: Starting at $22.97 per hour
- Run High-Tech Systems: Load and operate CNC laser machinery to cut steel and aluminum with extreme accuracy.
- Verify Quality: Use calipers and micrometers to ensure every part meets tight tolerances.
- Maintain Flow: Interpret blueprints and work orders to stay ahead of production deadlines.
- Manage Equipment: Handle material loading via overhead cranes or forklifts and perform minor maintenance to keep the laser at peak performance.
- CNC Experience: Background operating CNC lasers, plasma cutters, or waterjets.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read blueprints and navigate machine interfaces.
- Precision Tooling: Skilled with micrometers, calipers, and squares.
- Reliability: Commitment to our 6:00 AM start time and a focused work ethic.
- Physical Capability: Ability to stand for the shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Loads programs and operates CNC laser cutting equipment to produce parts for industries such as agriculture and construction.
- Material Handling: Positions metal sheets against stops or aligns layout marks on the laser bed; uses hoists or forklifts to load and unload materials.
- Process Monitoring: Activates and monitors the laser during the cutting process to ensure accuracy and edge quality; adjusts nozzle alignment or focus as needed.
- Quality Control: Reads job specifications and blueprints to determine requirements; performs first-piece and in-process inspections using precision tools.
- Secondary Operations: Performs finishing tasks such as deburring, part separation from nests, and organizing parts for the next production stage.
- Maintenance: Performs minor machine maintenance, including cleaning slats, checking lens conditions, and ensuring gas levels are sufficient.
- Documentation: Records quantities completed and logs other required data in work instructions or the shop management system.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Strictly follows all safety policies (specifically laser safety protocols) and keeps the work area clean and free of hazards.
