We are seeking an experienced CNC Shop Manager to lead daily machining operations within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of CNC machining experience, including leadership responsibilities, and a strong background in aerospace standards, tight tolerances, and quality compliance. This role is responsible for overseeing production schedules, mentoring machinists, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

salary: $93,600 - $156,000 per year

Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of CNC machinists and operators
  
  
• Assign work based on production priorities and employee skill levels
  
  
• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure high performance and skill development
  
  
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  
  
• Conduct performance reviews and provide corrective action when necessary
  
  

Production & Operations

• Oversee setup, programming verification, and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers
  
  
• Ensure adherence to production schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency
  
  
• Monitor cycle times, scrap rates, and machine utilization
  
  
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime
  
  
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
  
  
• At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or lead role
  
  
• Aerospace manufacturing experience required
  
  
• strong knowledge of multi-axis CNC mills and lathes
  
  
• Proficiency in reading complex blueprints and applying GD&T principles
  
  
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  
  
• strong understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, and cutting strategies
