Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our meat packing facility. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production in a USDA-regulated environment. Key Responsibilities:  Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on meat processing and packaging equipment including grinders, blenders, formers, conveyors, and vacuum packaging systems.  Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and minor electrical systems.  Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance tasks, repairs, and parts usage in compliance with company and union standards.  Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely, and facilities are in accordance with OSHA, USDA, and company policies.  Support production uptime by collaborating with operations and sanitation teams, particularly during shift changes and equipment changeovers.  Participate in installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.  Adhere to GMPs, Lockout/Tagout, and all plant safety procedures. Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred.  Minimum 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in food or meat processing.  Working knowledge of mechanical components, pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.  Experience with USDA-inspected production environments is a plus.  Ability to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments and lift up to 50 lbs.  Ability to read schematics, equipment manuals, and blueprints. Preferred Experience With:  Meat processing equipment (grinders, stuffers, formers, packaging machines)  Conveyor systems, motors, pumps, and gearboxes
