Top Helathcare facility is hiring a Trauma Registrar to work on site in Toledo OH.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Trauma Registrar assists with gathering patient information from the medical record and enters all patient information required into the trauma registry. Maintains the trauma daily lists, abstracts, performance improvement with registry patients. Assists with compiling statistical information and prepares reports for research and other requests as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintenance of Trauma Registry
- Identify trauma patients for entry into the Trauma Registry
- Locates patients with ED admissions, direct admissions, transfers, discharges
- Abstracts data from charts that is required for the Trauma registry including ICD-10 diagnosis, procedures, ISS/AIS, and other information required by NTDB/TQIP/NORTR
- Performs data searches, report as requested in the Trauma Registry
- Compiles statistical information, analyzes data, and audits for research and other projects
- Develops and generates numerous periodical reports to monitor quality indicators, summarize demographics of trauma patient population, and projects future trends
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information
- Assists with preparing reports for Trauma Committee
- Calculate ISS
- Identify PI and or issues on a case by case review
- Data entry and verification (quality control)
2. Assists with trauma clerical functions as required
- Produces typed copy from rough written copy or oral instructions involving correspondence, reports and other material of technical or confidential nature
- Maintenance of filing and searches files including organizational skills with good follow through.
3. Willing to expand knowledge base and further develop skills to keep current with latest technology in data processing and other aspects of care.
4. Perform other related duties
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
*Candidate must be experienced and able to jump right in - there will not be training for this position
*3-5 years in Trauma Registry
*2 years experience in ICD-10-CM coding and AIS coding
*Computer skilled:
*Must be able to type 20 WPM
*Must be familiar with Word and Excel
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalency
- Preferred: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification, certified coding specialist certification (CCS), or Associate's degree in Allied Health field with an emphasis in Anatomy & Physiology
- Preferred: CSTR

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
