The Manager, Financial Reporting manages and oversees the financial reporting functions for all of the client's Projects. location: Atlanta, Georgia job type: Permanent salary: $120,000 - 135,000 per year work hours: 8 to 5 education: Bachelor's degree experience: 10 Years responsibilities: The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of all external financial reports, monitoring of GASB and FASB pronouncements for applicability to the company, and filing of reports in accordance with continuing disclosure requirements. The Manager also supports the Director of Accounting, Billing and Financial Reporting in communicating with the company's Senior Management, Participants and other external parties and with special projects as assigned. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Manages the preparation and presentation of the company's annual consolidated financials (Annual Financials) for inclusion in the Annual Report and Annual Information Statement (AIS).Manages the database containing certain Participant financial/other information (Participant data) and uses such data to prepare Quarterly Participant Reports (QPR) and AIS disclosures to comply with requirements of the Continuing Disclosure Agreements of the company's outstanding bonds, via filings with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) through its Electronic Municipal Market Access (EMMA) website.Ensures the preparation and filing of the following with the company's bond Trustees: a. Annual Financials in accordance with applicable bond resolutions b. QPRs in accordance with Continuing Disclosure Agreements, in conjunction with filing such with the MSRB in accordance with SEC Rule 15c2-12. Prepares client's nuclear units' Project Entities' (SPVs) financials (annually) in accordance with timelines specified by Loan Guarantee Agreements with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).Files the Semi-annual nuclear facility's Construction Monitoring Report with the MSRB via EMMA.Coordinates with the external auditors to facilitate the preparation of comfort and bring down letters as required for each bond closing. Manages the preparation and/or reviews for content/accuracy applicable financial or Participant-related disclosures in company's Official Statements for bond issuance.Manages the preparation of company's quarterly reports for the first, second and third quarters of each year in accordance with timelines specified by the DOE.Monitors and evaluates developments pertaining to accounting pronouncements issued by the GASB and FASB, which may impact company's financial statements or disclosures.Provides Participant data as requested for special projects by management. qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with 10 - 12 years related experience demonstrating a progression in responsibilities, including 4-5 years in a leadership and/or supervisory role, is required to perform the position's complete responsibilities. Public Utility, Joint Action Agency and/or electric energy trading experience preferred. Public accounting, technical accounting research and/or financial reporting experience is highly desired.CPA designation and/or advanced degree highly preferred. Must have in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, theories and practices related to accounting, and financial reporting. Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with Board members, senior management, financial and legal professionals in order to complete public disclosure documents. Effective communication is required to interact with peers and subordinates to optimize the success of the department. Attention to detail is critical to ensuring the accuracy of financial reports.Must have knowledge of Microsoft family software.
