job summary: The Terminals Training Manager is a key team member of the extended leadership team and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for employees and operators working in the OTUS chemical product terminals to ensure safe and sustainable terminal operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of chemical products, product transportation and storage, and safe operating procedures, as well as experience in training and development. To ensure proper planning, design, testing, implementation and maintenance of all facilities, systems, processes, and equipment required to maintain and foster OTUS' competitive position as an operation that can be relied upon for first-class safety, environmental compliance, quality control, efficiency, service and customer satisfaction. location: HOUSTON, Texas job type: Permanent salary: $120,000 - 130,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Lead OTUS Training department including budget, process, and team and operating controls for assigned budget and related cost center and providing leadership to a team of direct reports. Establish KPIs and periodically provide a management review of the KPI results and corrective actions needed to close gaps in expected vs actual performance. Improve and implement training programs for employees working in chemical product terminals, including both new hires and existing employees. Work closely with management and safety personnel to identify training needs and develop training programs to address those needs. Lead and/or Conduct training sessions for employees on various topics, including but not limited to, chemical awareness, safe and efficient operational procedures, hazardous materials handling, and hazard awareness Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure they are meeting their objectives. Develop and maintain training records, including attendance records and evaluations. Stay current with industry developments and new technologies in training and make recommendations for and lead improvements to training programs. Maintain and update OTUS Training Matrix Maintain and update Training Platform within Intelex Collaborate with other departments and external resources to ensure the delivery of comprehensive training programs. Originate and maintain the necessary documentation and data needed to assure departmental efficiencies and flow of essential information to management and other relevant departments. Develop and implement risk reduction strategies. Participate and support project and improvement initiatives including Process Safety Management reviews, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement/ exercises to ensure sustainable and improved safe terminal operations. Ensure training compliance with all Company policies and governmental safety and environmental rules and regulations including API, DOT, USCG, and FRA,OSHA, EPA Manage the training team's oversight of operational personnel, particularly with new hires and their respective advancement through the operational development program. Ensure solid operational training is being implemented that allows for employees to contribute to the organization and advance through the operational organization in a timely manner.
