Manage production schedules, assignments, and workflow to meet deadlines and production targets. Provide guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to junior machinists and apprentices. Foster a positive and productive team environment. Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary actions if needed. Technical Expertise & Operations: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC lathes (e.g., DMG MORI, OKUMA, DOOSAN, MAZAK, Haas). Program CNC lathes (often including G-code, Mastercam, and/or GibbsCam). Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications (including GD&T). Ensure machining processes are carried out efficiently and accurately, meeting quality standards. Perform and/or oversee first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. Manage tooling inventory and ensure availability for production needs. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement).
