job summary: A Senior Pipeline Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This Senior Hydraulic Pipeline Engineer is responsible for hydraulic modeling and flow assurance studies for a large gas transmission project, ensuring pipeline design and deliverables are accurate, code-compliant, and coordinated with other disciplines using specialized software like SPS, OLGA, and Hysys. location: Houston, Texas job type: Contract salary: $67.66 - 87.83 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to pipeline design and deliverables.Makes decisions on discipline-specific project problems.Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions.Performs pipeline engineering tasks and pipeline related calculations.Executes pipeline hydraulics and flow assurance support/studies for single-phase (gas or liquid) and multiphase fluids (steady-state and transients).Involves the design of pumping and compression systems, and modeling for control, surge relief, and blowdown systems.Performs hydraulic modeling using Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS), OLGA, PipeSim, Gregg Engineering, and Hysys software.Prepares specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, and bid evaluations.Reviews vendor provided data, documentation, and drawings. Skills: Understanding of industry and regulatory codes, best practices, and design criteria.Experience with ASME, API, AWWA, ASTM, and MSS codes/specifications is essential.Specific knowledge of ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and CFR is a must.strong verbal and written communication skills.
