job summary: A Test Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Phoenix, AZ area. This position involves the hands-on planning, assembly, functional testing, and evaluation of various aircraft components and systems, ensuring strict compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures. location: Phoenix, Arizona job type: Contract salary: $20.00 - 30.80 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: High School responsibilities: Testing & Evaluation: Plans, assembles, disassembles, reworks, and performs engineering development and qualification tests on various aircraft components and systems.Performs functional testing according to pre-established, part-specific test procedures.Monitors tests through completion and services test equipment as required.Analyzes and evaluates test results to verify that required parameters have been maintained. Documentation & Compliance: Documents acceptance or failure results.Follows blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.Accurately follows work instructions. Tool Proficiency & Equipment Handling: Demonstrates proper use of simple hand/machine tools, electronic/manual test equipment, and mechanical measuring devices.Performs proper loading and unloading of electronic equipment in test beds.Proficiently uses computer tools such as SAP. Operations, Quality, and Safety: Quality Assurance: Complies with applicable elements of quality systems and participates in continuous improvement efforts (ACE).Scheduling: Follows plans for production schedules and quality requirements; meets internal and external customer deadlines.Initiative: Demonstrates initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.Safety & Waste: Complies with safety and hazardous waste disposal programs; participates in waste minimization efforts.General: Understands the end use of manufactured products.Auditing: Participates in audits.
