responsibilities:
- Monitor daily investment portfolio positions across various custodians and investment managers.
- Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and quarterly internal reporting packages for the family office.
- Complete accurate month-end reconciliations and finalize monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
- Process daily investment trades and cash activity within portfolio accounting systems.
- Perform daily cash and position reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Calculate daily NAV, including precise pricing and accruals.
- Monitor and process corporate actions such as dividends, stock splits, and other relevant events.
- Assist in the month-end closing process and the determination of Net Asset Value.
- Support the closing of management company books and intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements and partner capital allocations.
- Manage the full lifecycle of investment funds and coordinate effectively with external auditors.
- Assist with year-end tax compliance and various regulatory reporting requirements.
- Serve as a primary liaison with custodians and the back-office teams of investment managers.
- Lead initiatives focused on workflow automation and enhancing system efficiencies within the accounting function.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in investment accounting, ideally gained within a Big 4 environment.
- Deep understanding of investment accounting principles and practices, including NAV calculation, performance measurement, and financial reporting for diverse investment portfolios.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial structures and data sets.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and experience with relevant portfolio accounting systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
- Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive financial information.
